We provide full university bursaries to high-achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds – covering fees, textbooks, laptops, and living allowances. Our wrap-around support includes tutoring, wellness care, career guidance, and mentorship to ensure success from enrolment to graduation. For graduates, our Internship Programme bridges education to employment through work-readiness training and corporate mentorship
Entsika entered into a Partnership of collaboration and cooperation with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) for the purpose of advancing the many common interests of the two organisations, mainly in as far as they relate to education, skills development, and training of deserving previously disadvantaged students from the rural areas and townships of South Africa.
As part of this partnership, the DBE provides a list of eligible students for the bursary program.
The objectives of the Entsika External Bursary programme are:
Wrap-around support that walks with our students from enrolment to well beyond graduation.
Full financial coverage for tuition and living expenses.
Laptops, textbooks, uniforms, and other essentials.
One-on-one coaching and career guidance.
Academic support through qualified tutors.
Specialisation and global exchange programmes.
Bi-annual skills development and training sessions.
Vacation work with stipends and accommodation.
Personal wellness support via ICAS.
Entsika Foundation enables youth employment through internship programmes
Entsika Foundation enables youth employment through internship programmes for all our bursary graduates. The overall goal is to assist young people to become employable and to equip them with skills that enable them to be self-sufficient and productive contributors to the economy.
Skills development is critical for generating long-term livelihoods and promoting growth in both the official and informal economies around the world. The cycle of poverty cannot be broken without access to high- quality skills development programs.
Entsika accomplishes this by exposing beneficiaries to experiential learning in a real-life work environment in their fields of study and through interventions that provide youth with core skills such as technical, vocational, and work readiness training to enable the youth to be self-sustainable and become positive contributors to local and national economies. Furthermore, we provide students with dedicated mentors to guide and coach them through their academic and professional development.
